A mostly settled pattern across southern capitals gives way to a trough bringing showers to eastern NSW and southeast Queensland later today, while Perth stays warm and dry under high pressure. Maximums will be close to the October average for most regions, with gusty winds developing ahead of the change.
What is the weather forecast for today?
A weak trough is bumping up against a high in the Tasman Sea, drawing humid air into the coast from the Hunter down to the South Coast. Sydney can expect cloud building through the afternoon with a possible late shower – the best of the sun will be before lunch. Melbourne stays fine after patchy morning clouds, Brisbane warms into the mid-20s under partly cloudy skies, and Adelaide holds onto a sunny, mild day. Will the heat stick around?
Not for the eastern seaboard. The trough will slide north overnight, bringing a cooler, southerly change to Sydney and the Illawarra by Monday morning. The weather forecast Melbourne shows a fine but cooler start to the week, while Brisbane and the gold coast stay warm and a little sticky.
